Dan Bowyer serves as Team Chaplain for the Stratford Warriors. Dan has loved the game of hockey since his dad took him to his first London Knights OHL game at the age of five while he was growing up in Lambeth, Ontario. Dan worked in marketing for the Guelph Storm of the OHL during the 1997-98 season and considered studying sports administration before responding to the call to ordained ministry and studying at Huron University College in London.
Dan has served within the Anglican Diocese of Huron since his ordination in 2006. From 2014 to 2019 he served at St. Paul’s, Stratford and came on board with the Stratford Warriors as Team Chaplain in 2015. Now a member of the clergy team at All Saints’, Waterloo, Dan and his wife continue to live in Stratford. In 2022, Dan was awarded a degree in Social Work from Renison University College in Waterloo and alongside the Warriors’ Mental Health Advisor MacGregor Austin-Olsen, Dan is a Registered Social Worker in Ontario in addition to serving as an Anglican cleric. Dan visits practice to lead study at the request of Warriors team members, provides a listening ear for players, staff and their families and assists with co-coordinating community outreach for the hockey club.
