OLIVER COMMITS TO UTICA

The Stratford Hockey Club is pleased to announce that defenseman Reid Oliver has committed to Utica College. This is a fantastic achievement for Reid and the Stratford Hockey Club. Congratulations Reid!

Utica Head Coach Gary Heenan welcomes Reid to the team… “We are very excited to have Reid join Pioneer Nation. He can be a shut down guy and run the top of the power play. What sold us was when Coach Williams praised his leadership and character. The future is bright for Reid Oliver”.

Reid, a 2002 Elmira, Ontario native, grew up playing in the Waterloo Wolves (AAA) system and first hit the ice with the Warriors as an affiliate in 2018-2019. He eventually signed on as a full time player in 2022-2023 with his time in between spent playing for the Junior A Carleton Place Canadians

2022-2023 was a great season for Reid — he was named Defenceman of the Year in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League’s Midwestern Conference. Reid scored 10 of his 14 goals on the powerplay and tallied 37 assists in a 51 point season.

Reid will be studying Health Sciences at Utica and he looks forward continuing his hockey career as a Pioneer. The Stratford Hockey Club wishes Reid all the best for the future.
