McCANN COMMITS TO UWO

Wednesday, April 19, 2023
The Stratford Hockey Club is pleased to announce that Zac McCann has received a hockey commitment from the University of Western Ontario (UWO).  Congratulations Zac!

Zac, a 2002 Stratford native, began his hockey career playing two seasons with Stratford Minor Hockey followed by the Huron Perth Lakers (AAA) for his Minor Atom through Major Peewee seasons.  At Minor Bantam he moved on to the Waterloo Wolves (AAA) where he played for several seasons.

Zac first hit the ice with the Warriors as an affiliate in 2018-2019, and then signed on as a full time player in 2019-2020.  He has played in Stratford for the past 3 seasons and has worn the “C” the past 2 seasons.

During his time in Stratford Zac has earned many awards — most recently he added the title of Most Points in the Regular Season to his list of achievements for both the Mid-Western Conference and GOJHL League with 27 goals + 56 assists (83 points)… that’s 1.73 points per game!

Zac will be studying business at UWO and he looks forward continuing his hockey career as a Mustang.  As solid leader with dynamic hockey skills, Stratford has no doubt Zac will succeed in London and wishes him well on all his future endeavours.
